In Bernie Sander's new proposed single payer plan, Democrats across the spectrum are offering alternatives to Medicare for All.
With all the grand-bargains popping up in the other Washington these days (debt ceiling, immigration, etc.), one plan is certain to rankle Democrats and Republicans alike. You probably heard that Bernie Sanders introduced his Medicare-for-all plan. The proposal would roll out over four years – offering immediate access to all children under 18, lowering the eligibility to age 55 in the first year, then to 45, then 35, then everyone. Included would be hospitalization, doctor visits, prescriptions, vision, dental, and more.
Other legislators have other ideas:
One of the most conservative Democrats is calling for a committee to review other countries’ programs to get a feel for the pros and cons. Thirty-eight centrist Democrats have sent a letter to the Senate’s Health, Education, Labor & Pensions committee indicating a willingness to come to a bipartisan agreement on saving the ACA. And that’s just on the Democratic side of the aisle.
Looks like we will be seeing some interesting proposals, debates, and lobbying. Lots and lots of lobbying.…. Get your popcorn ready!

I love numbers. I'm a math geek. I read benefits industry articles and periodicals for relaxation (but, honestly, I'm still a fun gal). I also like to share what I've learned and you'll find it all here.
